Riffat has proven capability in leading teams, managing complex projects, recruiting, training, building capacity, procuring and running large contracts and grants, sourcing & building relationships and producing high-level deliverables for actionable results. Overall, she has worked in the sectors of education, poverty alleviation, governance, security, institutional building, aid, labor markets, refugees, finance and social entrepreneurship. Riffat has been a noted speaker & advisor, receiving several high civilian honors for her work and commitment.
She is most proud of founding MRA – a highly active, primary research & consulting organization in Afghanistan where she innovated methods & practices. Riffat grew MRA to 550 staff with over $2.5M in consulting contracts within its first year and worked on highly critical projects that made tangible, measurable impact.
With Beyond Aid, Riffat focused on generating dignified, real and sustainable economic development at the grass roots by empowering & fostering entrepreneurs in developing countries.
Riffat holds Bachelor of Science from MIT and a multi-disciplinary Master from Harvard in Urban Planning and International Development.
