Alnoor Shivji

Mr. Alnoor Shivji serves as Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of life science research company Azure Biosystems and a General Partner at venture capital firm Global Asset Capital. Mr. Shivji is a co-founder of life science diagnostics and tools company WaferGen Biosystems and served as its Chief Executive Officer and President from April 2003 until October 2011, and as Chairman of the Board from October 2002 until July 2014. Between December 2003 and July 2006, he was the Investment Director at VPSA in Paris, France, focusing on telecommunication and networking, semiconductors, and enterprise software at the VC firm. Prior to that, he co-founded Cyras Systems and served as its President and CEO until it was acquired by CIENA for $1.5 billion in March 2001. He also co- founded Fiberlane Communications, which changed the face of the networking communications industry when it split into Cerent (acquired by Cisco for $6.9 billion) and Siara Systems (acquired by Redback Networks for $4.3 billion). Mr. Shivji also co-founded OSIware, a communications software company that was sold to Infonet, a value added service provider now part of British Telecom. Mr. Shivji has been in the industry for 30 years and has extensive experience in starting, investing and managing high-tech/biotech companies. In all the companies he founded and led, Mr. Shivji was instrumental in the vision, design, and execution of the product. He has been advising and investing in Silicon Valley startups like Involver/Oracle, Lara Networks/Cypress Semiconductor, Lightlogic/Intel, Canesta/Microsoft, and Appshop/Oracle for several years. Mr. Shivji currently serves on the board of Azure Biosystems, and has served on several boards in the past including WaferGen, Involver/ Oracle, OneAccess, Silecs, Redwave, Neophotonics (NYSE: NPTN), and Zytera. Mr. Shivji has been a Charter member of several entrepreneurial organizations like TiE, ASVC Wireless, AAMA, SVForum, and OPEN. Mr. Shivji has been on the National Committee of the Aga Khan Foundation USA since 2007 and very focused on Impact Investing. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of British Columbia.

Aziz Pabani

Aziz Pabani is the cofounder and CEO of StratosX which is a video community for sports and adventure sports enthusiasts. He is also the founder of GreenTech Systems which is a software development company based in Silicon Valley. Previously Aziz has a lot of experience in launching tech startups in emerging markets including a real estate marketplace in Brazil and an ecommerce company in Nigeria.

Aziz has previously mentored teams for Pakathon as well as the NGO Yaar. He has an active interest in education, having worked with a few universities and is also a member of the Penn Alumni Interview Committee.

Aziz is also deeply involved in the manufacturing and real estate development businesses via various family interests. He completed his undergraduate education from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kashif Noorani

Kashif Noorani is a product management and engineering leader with over eighteen years of experience building products at enterprise software companies and startups. Currently at HP Software, Kashif is responsible for a cloud-native, SaaS product aimed at the mid-to-large enterprises. Kashif has an MBA from University of Chicago and a BSEE from University of Washington.

Nadir Hussain

Nadir has over 20 years of work experience that traverses Technology, Engineering, Data Analysis, and Online Marketing.  He has worked both at big companies (eBay) and has been involved in a couple of startups as well.  For the past eight years, he has worked exclusively in Online Marketing.  Currently, he is a Sr. Director, at Shutterfly, Inc, where he manages Search and Display advertising across all of the Shutterfly family of brands.

His Online Marketing experience includes Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Display Advertising, Facebook Advertising, Conversion Rate Optimization and Data Analysis.  He also teaches a class in Online Marketing at UC Berkeley extension, and in the past, has also taught a similar class at the Continuing Studies program at Stanford University.

Nadir has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from UC/Santa Cruz, an Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from UC/Berkeley.
